Dolores E. Houghtaling, 92 of Steuben Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday (April 23, 2022) at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Hornell, March 28, 1930, the daughter of Stoddard and Inez Barker O’Rourke, she had resided all her life in Hornell. Dolores had been employed for several years at the former Westinghouse Plant in Bath. She had attended both the Arkport United Methodist Church and the Arkport Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Earl Houghtaling in 1999, her daughters, Bonnie White and Kathy Biddle, her son, William Houghtaling, her sister, Dorothy LoMedico, and her brothers, Thomas O’Rourke and James O’Rourke, and daughter in law Teresa Houghtaling.
Surviving are her daughters, Jean (Al) Stever of Arkport, and Karan (Paul) Mess of Canaseraga, her son Thomas Houghtaling of Hornell, her son-in-law, William White of Hornell, her sister-in-law, Betty O’Rourke of Painted Post, 20 Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell on Wednesday (April 27, 2022) from 11AM until 1 PM where funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Jesse Flint officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery in Arkport.
