Richard A. Baxter Sr.
Richard A. Baxter Sr., 83, of Kendall Road, passed away peacefully Tuesday (January 30, 2018) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
He was born in Warnsville, Ohio, February 16, 1934, the second of nine children born to James and Madeline Rundt Baxter.
Dick came to New York from Ohio in 1954, and fell in love with Ethel Jones and started an instant family with her three children. Together, they created a family with seven children. Shortly after their marriage, Dick joined the United States Army, and faithfully served his country for two years.
Dick had a passion for farming and nature and was employed in dairy farming most of his life. He loved fishing and hunting. Some of his hobbies included working with electronics and computers.
He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings; Bob Baxter, Donald Baxter and Nancy Baxter Grosso, his wife; Ethel Jones Baxter, his sons; James Baxter, and Richard Baxter Jr.
He is survived by his siblings; George Baxter, Bill Baxter, Walter/Doug Baxter, Betty Baxter Voeltz, June Baxter Sanders, and and foster brother Jeffrey Manning, his children; Karen Rodriguez, Kathy Rodriquez, Jeff Baxter Sr., Cynthia Rodriguez, and Lori Baxter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family will be present on Saturday (February 10, 2018) at the Hornell VFW 245 Canisteo St, Hornell where Military Honors will be accorded at 2 PM, followed by a Celebration Of Life Service.
